4Teachers.org works to help you integrate technology into your classroom by offering free online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate and create ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics, and classroom calendars.
Dr. Jean
This section of Dr. Jean's site focuses on songs and activities to reinforce the alphabet for young children. The main page has many more activities to support kindergarten student learning.
An educational site offering 5000+ FREE printable theme units, word puzzles, writing forms, book report forms, math, ideas, lessons, and much more.
Jefferson County Schools
On this site, you can access Tennessee schools' academic vocabulary lists for grades K-12. In addition to lists of vocabulary for specific content areas, there are lots of games, with downloads for the game boards and content word cards.
The Public Library Association and the Association for Library Service to Children, have incorporated the latest research into a series of parent and caregiver workshops designed to provide public libraries with vital tools to help prepare parents for their critical role as their child's first teacher. These tools were developed by Dr. Grover C. Whitehurst and Dr. Christopher Lonigan, well-known researchers in emergent literacy, and have been tested and refined by library demonstrations sites around the country.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee: Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies
An award given to U.S. works of fiction or non-fiction written in either English or Spanish and intended for children or young adults.
America Reads Spanish is an organization whose main goal is to ensure the availability of Spanish language reading materials in schools and libraries nationwide.
American Academy of Family Physicians
This site offers guidelines for medical staff who may be enlisted to interpret for patients. The guidelines can be adapted for an educational setting, however, and are excellent recommendations for bilingual education staff who may be asked to serve as interpreters.
American Association of School Librarians
AASL works to ensure that all members of the school library media field collaborate to provide leadership in the total education program, participate as active partners in the teaching/learning process, connect learners with ideas and information, and prepare students for life-long learning, informed decision-making, a love of reading, and the use of information technologies.
American Federation of Teachers
A group of teachers founded AFT to protect their professional interests, benefit the people they served, and create strong local unions affiliated with the labor movement. The AFT has grown into a trade union representing workers in education, health care, and public service.
American Speech-Language Hearing Association
The American Speech-Language Hearing Association is the professional, scientific, and credentialing association for more than 99,000 audiologists; speech-language pathologists; and speech, language, and hearing scientists. ASHA's mission is to ensure that all people with speech, language, and hearing disorders have access to quality services to help them communicate more effectively.

Minneapolis Institute of Art
The Minneapolis Institute of Arts' Art Adventure program is an example of a collaborative effort between the museum and the public schools. The program's volunteers visit classrooms with art posters related to a specific theme, such as animals or celebrations. The site offers samples of some of the posters used.
Assessment in ESL and Bilingual Education: A Hot Topic Paper
Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory
This site, provided by the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL), examines various assessment techniques used with ESL and bilingual education students. Another feature of this site is its section on things to look for when selecting an assessment instrument for ESL and bilingual students.
This site has many downloadable audiobooks - some for children. Basic downloads are free, but you may purchase higher quality copies.
