A New Teacher Evaluation Tool That Features Best Practices for ELL Educators
Areli Schermerhorn, a peer evaluator for ELL and bilingual teachers in Syracuse, NY, explains what teacher evaluation rubrics are and why it is challenging for educators and their evaluators to get on the same page when criteria for special populations, such as ELLs, are not included in the rubrics. She also talks about a new tool that aligns ELL best practices to commonly used evaluation rubrics, such as the Danielson rubric and the Marzano rubric.
